Since October I participate in the project Postcrossing. It’s a project that allows you to send postcards and receive postcards back from random people around the world. That’s real postcards, not electronic! I am going t use this opportunity to improve my skills for my drawings.
I started a project for myself to design a postcard for everyone I need to send one. I am going to write about it so you all can see how I design the postcards for them.
This postcard is designed for someone from the United States of America, called Kyla.
She loves all animals, even the slimy ones or the ones with a lot of legs. Thats why I used a spider and a snail.
Pfff…. sometimes I have a moment that I want to draw something and it’s going to fail everytime, over and over. That was happening to those roses on the postcard for Kyla, unfortunately. I made a lot of sketches and everytime I wasn’t happy about it. What do you think?
But then I got one and the leaves where easy to do. Look at the spider on the left of the picture. Scary right? I think spiders are beautiful.
After the hard time on the roses, I draw the rest quickly and there was the drawing —> happy happy.
On the computer I made it more beautiful and send it to the printing company. Unfortunately it was a bad quality, but later I found the perfect one. Hopefully Kyla loves her postcard, until now I didn’t recieve a message from her.
In my shop you can buy these postcards as well. Thanks and love from me.
